Bob Harris
Chairman
Bob founded the Ball in 1992 . He is both Chairman of the Richmond May Ball and committee member of the Richmond May Fair. He has worked for mulitnationals across the world and continues to travel extensively. He now runs his own successful business in the UK.
Vivien Harris
Deputy Chair
Viv has been actively involved in the Richmond May Ball since the mid 1990s .
Prior to that she was Vice President and Partner of the Financial services company Towers Perrin.
She's currently Chair of the Friends of Richmond Green.
Gillian Thorpe
Gillian, who was Executive Director at the Orange Tree Theatre for three decades, has been on the Ball committee since 2000 when the theatre was first a beneficiary. Previously she worked for GE (USA), Wembley Conference Centre and Michelin et Cie in publicity and PR.
Chris Holt
Treasurer
Chris co-founded the Ball back in 1992. Chris and Bob have worked together for over 40 years raising money for charities in the local area. He lives in Richmond with his wife, is a keen golfer at the Royal Mid Surrey Golf Club, Treasurer of Richmond Good Neighbours and Chair of Governors of Rossall School.
Robert Scalzo
Robert is a trustee of The Holly Lodge Centre in Richmond Park, and it was via his involvement there that he joined the committee. He has worked in catering all of his life and owns the award winning restaurant Sicily on Elizabeth Street in Belgravia.
Gemma Fumagalli
Gemma joined the Richmond May Ball committee in 2023. She has previously volunteered for both mental health and animal charities and has organised a number of fundraising events. She lives in Richmond with her family and her dogs.
Cherry Wood
Cherry's background is in Healthcare communications. She is founder of two health care agencies in the fields of cancer, heart disease and mental health. She now works on renovating properties in London and overseas, a keen traveller who is endeavouring to learn Italian.
Sapna Jefferies
Sapna joins the Richmond May Ball committee this year. She was most recently an Executive Director at a finance firm and is currently kept on her toes by her two young children. Sapna has been involved with event organisation and fundraising at her past work place as well her children's schools.
