MAY BALL 2025 HIGHLIGHTS

On another gloriously sunny May evening over 450 guests gathered beneath a stunning marquee on Richmond Green to attend this year’s glamorous Richmond May Ball. The event began with a sparkling champagne reception, setting the tone for an unforgettable night of celebration and generosity.
During the sumptuous dinner, the guests were moved by two short films shedding light on the work of the Ball’s chosen charities for 2025: Ruils who empower disabled people to live independent lives, and The Orange Tree Theatre, renowned for its artistic excellence and meaningful community outreach.
Immediately the guests showed their generosity when auctioneer Tim Stansbury led a competitive donations session, raising an incredible £10,000 within minutes. The momentum continued with a Prize Draw which raised another £17,000.
Legendary actress Jane Asher delivered a heartfelt and inspirational speech about the two charities, followed quickly by an exciting Live Auction of glamorous and money-can’t-buy prizes. This raised another £38,000. Throughout the evening the Silent Auction ran in the background, contributing another £36,000!
Following the thrill of auctions and the prize draw, guests danced to the fantastic band Fake Tan and enjoyed a variety of evening entertainment – from casino tables and cocktails to a chocolate fountain, cheese station, photo booth and highly competitive arcade games - until it was time for carriages at 1 am.
Now in its 29th year, the Richmond May Ball remains a highlight of the local calendar. This incredible evening was made possible by our generous sponsors and donors and the invaluable contribution and support of our guests, suppliers and advertisers.
The Ball raised £130,000 to contribute to the charities' vital work.
